The 3 Day Juice Detox

A 3-day fresh juice cleanse is a sure fire way to lose weight, detox and reboot, while providing your body with all the nutrients it requires to function at an optimum level.

I found that my face looked fresher, the little red spots on my nose cleared up and my fingers were slimmer; as I have got older I have noticed my fingers and the joints on my fingers have got bigger and quite puffy looking. After three days of green juices they were slim again and I felt they looked quite glamorous!

Oh my gosh but did the cravings set in! Sugar sugar sugar, I had to have a muffin, a piece of cake, something sweet and crispy, anything! If there had been a packet of Oreo’s in the house I would have eaten the lot! So do make sure your cupboards are cleared of any temptations before you start the detox. For a few days leading up to the start of your detox, it’s best to cut out all gluten, soy and dairy from your diet and ease into the detox slowly, don’t just go cold turkey!

For instance, pre-detox try have:

*A simple breakfast consisting of two boiled eggs with a slice of Gluten-free bread.
*Lunch could be a mixed leaf salad with avocado, bean sprouts, grated carrot and beetroot.
*Supper consisting of a little chicken breast with cooked broccoli, mange tout, cauliflower and carrots.

My main recommendations for the detox are as follows:

  •  A very reasonably priced VonShef Professional Power Juicer or a slow, masticating Oscar Neo Slow Juicer
  • Try to use organic and always thoroughly wash your produce before juicing.
  • Drink at least 6 x 500ml juices per day.
  • Also drink 10 glasses of water per day spaced between your juices.
  • Make sure your fridge is stocked with the right ingredients (no temptations in reach)
  • Mentally prepare! It’s only 3 days but caffeine withdrawal and cravings can be expected.
  • Start your day with the juice of half a lemon in warm water. This is a wonderful liver cleanser and a very good habit to cultivate.
